A-Team Shearing Contractors was started by Des Cameron in 1986 and originally catered to the Western Districts surrounding Winchelsea. Over the 25 years of his ownership, Des forged a remarkable and unforgettable reputation in the industry for running reliable teams and 'getting the job done right'.
We are committed to preserving Des's legacy by seeing that A-Team continues to impress and exceed expectations every day, on every job.
From Shearing Shacks to Contracting Titans
Des began his shearing career at the age of twelve while living in his family home in Wurdiboluc. After shearing across Australia for twenty-odd years and chasing work around the country, Des saw an opportunity to begin contracting out his team. He started Carminvale Pty Ltd in the mid-eighties. It was only after they were fondly nicknamed (and soon only known as) 'The A-Team' that Des began to trade under this name.
Continuing the Legacy
In 2011, after eight years of shearing not only for the A-Team Shearing Contractors but for multiple contractors across South Australia, New South Wales, and Victoria, Robbie purchased the family company from his father. Robbie's mission now is to follow in Des's footsteps, to show the same dedication to providing a quality service to farmers that he was known for. He wanted to ensure that our customers would only receive the best and bring peace of mind to the job.
Growing Stronger Together
After over a decade under Robbie's command, the beginning of 2024 saw A-Team Shearing Contractors customer base tripled, with word having spread as far as SA & NSW. This accomplishment has been made possible solely through the dedication and professionalism of our staff, who consistently ensure that jobs are completed to the highest standards, with efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
